Dhruv Kumar Thakor, 65, died at Dadar railway station on Saturday morning. The cause of death was a head injury though how it happened is still unknown, according to the Dadar railway police. A police official revealed that Thakor, a resident of Mira Road, was knocked down by a train on Saturday morning while relieving himself on the tracks at platform number four. Thakor had first gone to the toilet on the platform only to find it locked.
But Shrikant Pandhare, sub-inspector and investigation officer of Dadar railway station, only said, "We just received a call that Thakor had met with an accident. Our constable rushed him to L T Hospital at Sion where he was declared dead. We're still investigating the matter. We have not even taken his son Nitin's statement since he wasn't in a state to speak."
Thakor was to leave for Bengaluru the same morning by the Udyan Express from platform four, to visit his wife and daughter who reside in Bengaluru. Said a relative, "We're not in a condition to speak, we want to attend to his last rites."
