The Shivaji Park branch of Union Bank Of India was robbed of Rs 15 lakh on Friday night-early Saturday morning. According to the police, the robbery was discovered on Saturday, when the bank manager and cashier reported for work, only to find an open shutter.
Inside, the locker was open and Rs 15 lakh were found missing. The police suspect the hand of an insider, who might have made a duplicate copy of the shutter and locker keys and passed it on to robbers.
The police, at the time of going to print were interrogating the bank's employees. Strangely, no security guard was present on night shift.
