Six persons including four of a family were seriously injured when a loaded container crashed into the hutments situated on the Mumbra by-pass here this morning, officials from Disaster Control Cell of TMC said

Thane: Six persons including four of a family were seriously injured when a loaded container crashed into the hutments situated on the Mumbra by-pass here this morning, officials from Disaster Control Cell of TMC said.


The incident took place near Siddharth Nagar colony on the by pass, and when one of the containers passing by applied sudden breaks to save a boy crossing the road following which the other container coming from behind rammed into it, Chief of Disaster Control Cell, Santosh Kadam said. Subsequently, the vehicle turned turtle and fell on the hutments injuring six persons including three children.


The injured were immediately rushed to CSMH Hospital at Kalwa after a team of officials from RDMC besides firemen and local police reached the spot and began rescue operations.


The injured are: Apsarin Talvaskar(50), Yaseem Navis Talvaskar(13), Ammu Nafis Talvasakar (9), Altaf Nafis Talvasakar (8), Jitendra Kapildev Jaiswal(31) and the driver of one of the containers whose name was given as Rambadan Prajapati (35).
