The announcement will come as relief to students, as there were fears that the results could get delayed due to the recently held elections. mid-day had earlier reported (‘HSC, SSC result dates keep students on the edge’, May 26) how the state board was reluctant to even announce a tentative result date, despite other boards like CBSE and ICSE having already declared their results in the second half of this month.
When contacted, MSBSHSE Secretary Krishnakumar Patil said, “We have not succumbed to any media pressure. We announced the result date today only after ensuring all result preparations were over.”
When asked why the board could not set a tradition of declaring HSC results by May-end every year (Last year, the result for HSC was declared on May 30), he replied, “In the past, too, we have declared results in first week of June. According to protocol, it is expected to declare class XII results before June 10. So, there has been no delay in declaring this year’s HSC results.”
