Thane: An assistant police inspector from the traffic department was arrested by the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) for allegedly taking bribe, police said on Friday.

API Dinkar S Jadhav, attached to the Kalwa division of the Traffic police, had demanded Rs 1,000 from the truck driver for allowing his overloaded vehicle to pass through, Sanjay Mohite, DSP, Thane ACB said in an official release on Friday.
The aggrieved driver complained to the ACB Thane unit about it following which a trap was laid at Jaman Naka Kalwa late on Thursday night. Jadhav was nabbed accepting the bribe money from the truck driver at around 1 AM, he said. The accused has been booked under sections 7,12,13(1)(D) and 13(2) of Prevention of Corruption Act (PCA), 1988, he said.
