Trident suicide: Girl had phoned the Russian

The police have discovered that the 22-year-old Russian boy Alexander Andreyanov (22), who jumped to death from the 16th floor of Trident Hotel, had spoken to a girl before the act.

A flight attendant with the Russian airliner Aeroflot, Alexander had committed suicide on February 3 after he got a call from Moscow. Although the police claims he spoke to a girl in Moscow, they are yet to ascertain the details about the girl or the reason for committing suicide.

"Alexander had spoken to a girl before he committed suicide. But it is yet to be ascertained, whether the girl was his girlfriend or a relative," an officer from Marine Drive police station said.
"We have not been able to get in touch with the girl as we have to go through the Russian consulate," he added.

According to the investigating officer, before committing suicide Alexander had also spoken to his parents in Russian. But they have not been able to get in touch with the family due to language barrier.

Sanjay Amrute, Senior Police Inspector of Marine Drive police station, said, "We will get the call records and the transcript in couple of days. That will confirm the reason behind the suicide."

On the day he committed suicide, two women crew members were in room No 1603 with Sergei Voronkov and Alexander. Alexander was talking to someone in Moscow on his cellphone, while the other three were chatting.

After the call, Alexander walked slowly towards the door as if trying to do something. He looked depressed and also asked for a drink. Suddenly, he ran towards the window and jumped off, breaking through the glass. The Trident officials alerted the police and Alexander was rushed to Bombay Hospital, where he died later.
