Two days on, Baby Ansh is healthier and happier

Just two days ago, Baby Ansh nearly died after he was dumped in a ditch just days after his birth, but was miraculously rescued by Virar businessman Nimesh Bhansali. Now, with all the love and care he is receiving, the scars – emotional and physical – from his ordeal will soon fade.

According to hospital staff, the newborn is already looking healthier and happier than when he was brought to them. “We have given him all necessary vaccination and he is responding well to the treatment. The ant bites and rashes on his body are also slowly fading with medication,” said Dr Nitin Pawar, managing director of Oscar Multispecility Hospital in Kandivli, where Ansh is recovering.

"Today, he was supposed to be produced in court and then sent to the children home, bt we have requested the police staff to allow the child to stay with us for few days so that he can at least get good care. The child is still weak," he added.

Despite these plans to send the baby to the chidlren’s home, Nimesh Bhansali, the Virar businessman who rescued the baby, continues to stay by the baby’s side and hopes this will never have to change. “I have accepted him as part of my family. It was a very emotional moment when police staff came to take him for court and then the children’s home,” he said.

Bhansali is still receiving calls from people offering to give Ansh a home, or just help with the expenses, but he plans to adopt Ash himself. “I have a very emotional bond with the child. I will try my best to keep him with me, following all the legal procedures,” he said.
