A dumper brushed against the motorcycle that her husband was riding
A 43-year-old resident of Sanpada, Navi Mumbai, died near the Vashi creek after coming under the wheels of a dumper truck that tipped her motorcycle over around 10 am yesterday.

Bhagwanti Devi and her husband, Dinesh Kumar Jain, were heading for a darshan at a temple in Mumbai when a dumper truck brushed against their motorcycle. As the motorcycle tipped over upon the impact, Bhagwanti, who was on the pillion, came under the rear wheels of the dumper.
She died on the spot of severe head injuries. Jain sustained minor injuries and was treated at a civic hospital in Navi Mumbai, said Anand Patil, assistant inspector, Vashi police station.
The driver of the truck, Samrat Tiknare, has been arrested and booked under sections 304A, 279, 337 and 338 of the IPC as well as sections 184 and 134 of the Motor Vehicles Act.
Rajesh Babshetty, senior inspector, Vashi traffic police, said the accident led to a traffic hold-up on the narrow Vashi creek bridge for an hour.
