The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has stayed the auction of a housing society here after its residents agreed to pay their dues of Rs 1.24 crore to the civic body.

The civic body stayed the auction yesterday after the residents of Kingston building at Hiranandani complex in suburban Powai paid Rs 25 lakh. The remaining amount will be paid within a month, the residents have assured the BMC.
