A 48-year-old man allegedly killed his wife at their Boisar home and later died by suicide by jumping in front of a train in Maharashtra's Palghar district. The incident took place on Wednesday.

According to a report in Times of India, Mahendra Yadav and Madhuri (45) had a fight at around 2.30 am on Wednesday. Mahendra took a kitchen knife and stabbed Madhuri.
As per Boisar Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation police, the couple's daughter (11) was in another bedroom while their son (9) had gone to call their neighbour to help resolve the fight.
In a statement to the police, the children said that their parents had been fighting after Mahendra returned home from work at around 9 pm on Tuesday. While a neighbour mediated and the family went off to sleep that night, on Wednesday at around 2 am, the children heard their parents fight again.
The couple's son ran out of the house to call the neighbour, who had earlier intervened. While the girl stayed inside her room. Upon reaching the house, the neighbour banged the door which was opened by Mahendra. He was shocked to find Madhuri lying in a pool of blood.
Meanwhile, Mahendra fled from the flat and the neighbour informed the police. At around 3.30 am, a loco pilot informed the Palghar railway police force about a man who had jumped in front of a speeding long-distance train at Boisar railway station.
Later, the man was identified as Mahendra, who worked as a technician in a Tarapur-based company. Cops said the reason behind the couple's fight is not known. Officials said they are talking to the family and neighbours.
The Boisar police have registered a case of murder against deceased Mahendra and have seized the knife used in the crime.
