The BMC is likely to increase its centres for vaccinating those in the 18 to 44 age group. While there are eight centres holding vaccination drives for this group, sources said that from Monday they will increase.

On the second consecutive day on Friday, the number of beneficiaries vaccinated for the second dose was higher than those given first doses.
On Friday there were 41,107 beneficiaries in all who were vaccinated. There were five adverse effects that were reported. The city has so far inoculated 26.21 lakh beneficiaries, out of which 6.05 lakh have been administered both the doses.
At least 16,310 were administered the first vaccine dose on Friday while 24,797 were administered the second dose. So far 20,16,014 people have been administered the first dose and 6,05,880 have been administered both doses.
The turnout of senior citizens was 16,324, while that of those aged 45 and above was 15,182. The number of health workers administered the vaccine shots was hardly 1,974. There were 4,014 front line workers who were vaccinated and of those aged between 18 and 44, there were 3,613 beneficiaries.
