A 34-year-old man was arrested for killing a security guard over losing a mobile Ludo game in Malad (West). The guard, Tukaram Nalawade, 52, used to play mobile games with the accused, Amit Rajpopat. The victim lived with his family in a chawl at Daruwala compound, Malad (West).

“On March 17, around 10.30pm, they met on an open ground and were playing Ludo on their phone. When Nalawade, who usually lost, started winning every game, Rajpopat lost his cool and rained kicks and blows on him,” said a police officer, as per a report in The Times of India

Later, on his way back home, Nalawade collapsed. His family members took him to hospital where he was pronounced dead. “Concerned about the pandemic restrictions, his family conducted his last rites without informing the police or sending the body for an autopsy. But during the funeral, a neighbour informed Nalawade’s kin that he had been beaten up by Rajpopat,” added officer.

On March 20, the family filed a complaint.  Malad police registered a murder case and arrested Rajpopat.
