Mumbai reports five new Covid-19 cases, active tally at 30

Amid the global pandemic scenario, screening of international passengers arriving at Mumbai, Pune and Nagpur airports was started on December 24, 2022

The state on Sunday reported 16 new COVID cases out of which five were reported from Mumbai.


Currently, there are 124 active cases in Maharashtra out of which 30 are in Mumbai.

Amid the global pandemic scenario, screening of international passengers arriving at Mumbai, Pune and Nagpur airports was started on December 24, 2022.

All passengers are being thermally scanned and random samples are being taken from 2 per cent of them for testing.

So far, 5,15,626 passengers have arrived and 11,178 underwent RTPCR tests, out of which 27 tested positive. Of them, three are from Pune, seven from Mumbai, five from Gujarat, two from Kerala and one each from Navi Mumbai, Amravati, Sangli, Goa, Uttar Pradesh, Assam and Odisha, Telangana and Tamil Nadu.
