Mumbai sees major dip in drink driving cases on New Year’s Eve

Mumbai saw a significant drop in the number of drink driving cases on New Year’s Eve with the Mumbai police penalising around 156 motorists this year. This year’s figure was less than those recorded in pre-pandemic years which saw around 500 cases. The number of drink driving cases on New Year’s Eve stood at 615 in 2017, 455 in 2018 and 778 in 2019.
