As of 08:00 hrs today, the weather forecast for Mumbai predicts heavy rain in the city and suburbs, with the possibility of very heavy rainfall at isolated places. Additionally, occasional strong winds with speeds of 45-55 kmph are expected, which may cause disruptions in outdoor activities.

The tide timings for today are as follows:

High Tide:

17:11 hrs: 3.50 meters

The high tide can lead to increased water levels in the coastal regions, potentially causing flooding in low-lying areas. Citizens living near the coastline are advised to take necessary precautions and avoid venturing close to the sea during this period.

For tomorrow, 27th July 2023, the high tide is expected at 06:38 hrs with a height of 3.31 meters.

Low Tide:

23:50 hrs: 1.44 meters

The low tide offers temporary relief from high water levels. However, it is crucial to remain cautious, as the possibility of heavy rain and strong winds can exacerbate flooding and waterlogging.

On 27th July 2023, the low tide is scheduled at 12:20 hrs with a height of 2.49 meters.

The city experienced substantial rainfall in the past 24 hours, from 25th July 2023, 08:00 hrs to 26th July 2023, 08:00 hrs, with the following average rainfall details in different regions:

City: 33.28 mm
Eastern Suburbs (ES): 76.25 mm
Western Suburbs (WS): 68.29 mm

The eastern suburbs recorded the highest rainfall during this period, indicating the intensity of the monsoon showers in that area.

Meanwhile, as heavy rainfall lashed Mumbai over the past few days, the city witnessed various mishaps, including a wall collapse in a high school. Fortunately, no citizens were injured in any incident.

First, a portion of the road near IT Park in Goregaon East caved in late on Monday night. Traffic on the route was diverted in light of the occurrence. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) will be examining the damage before carrying out repair work. In the second incident, a wall collapsed on the first floor of a two-storey building of the People Welfare School near Mani Bhai chawl at Meghwadi in Jogeshwari around 6.45 am on Tuesday.

Lastly, a huge tree fell on an electric double-decker AC bus opposite the Royal China restaurant near Azad Maidan on Hajarimal Somani Marg at 3.15 on Tuesday. The Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) undertaking bus number 10407 was heading towards Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus when a tree fell on its roof. While the bus was damaged, passengers escaped unscathed.
