Mumbai’s test positivity rate (TPR) saw a significant dip on Thursday even as the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) conducted more tests. While the city’s daily new cases remained above 200, the TPR dipped to 0.49 per cent. As per the BMC report, 218 new cases were registered in the city along with one death. The deceased had comorbidities and was above the age of 60 years, said the BMC report.

The doubling rate continued to dip and was 2,613 days on Thursday. The city’s recovery rate remained constant at 97 per cent, as 103 people were discharged after full recovery on Thursday. The state saw a significant drop in new cases along with Covid-19 fatalities. As per the state health department report, 789 cases were reported along with seven deaths.
The state’s case fatality rate remained constant at 2.12 per cent, as 585 people were discharged after full recovery on Thursday. The state has 6,482 active cases. The Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) saw a significant dip in new cases. As per the state report, 377 cases were reported in the MMR, including those from Mumbai.
After Mumbai, Thane Municipal Corporation reported the maximum number of daily cases in the MMR at 46. It was followed by Navi Mumbai, which reported 37 cases. While Kalyan-Dombivili saw 11 cases, Vasai-Virar reported 16. Raigad saw 12 cases and Panvel reported nine. The MMR, excluding Mumbai, registered zero deaths.
