The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) achieved 102% compliance on vaccinations on Thursday. The corporation has targetted inoculating 1,000 health workers every day and on Thursday, this number went upto 1,019. On Friday, 1,008 people were vaccinated with 92 per cent compliance. Since January 16 when vaccinations began, 5,424 health workers have been vaccinated by NMMC.
NMMC had started inoculation at 5 centres. After finding the speed of the vaccinations slow, Municipal Commissioner Abhijeet Bangar had told authorities to increase vaccination centres, and now 10 centres are engaged in the drive. “We are happy with the speed of vaccinations. We are now preparing to increase vaccination centres and are in the process of submitting a proposal to the state government for the same,” said Bangar.
