The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Education Department on Monday evening announced a holiday for all primary and secondary schools in Mumbai on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, due to ongoing heavy rainfall across the city.

According to an official notification, the decision has been made keeping in mind the safety of students, teachers, and non-teaching staff at city schools.

The holiday applies to all schools under every management and medium, including private aided and unaided institutions within the BMC limits, it said.
