Heavy rains continued in Thane district of Maharashtra on Monday, with the city recording over 100 mm of rainfall in just 8 hours, the civic officials said.

"Thane received 100. 31 mm of rainfall between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm," the Regional Disaster Management Cell (RDMC) of Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) said on Monday.

Rainfall was heaviest between 12:30 pm and 2:30 pm, with 27.44 mm recorded between 1:30 pm and 2:30 pm alone, officials said.
