A minor rear-end collision between two cars on Pokhran Road No 1 near Singhania School in Vartak Nagar, Thane West, led to oil spillage on the road, prompting the disaster management teams to clean it. No injuries were reported in the incident. According to the Thane Municipal Corporation&rsquo;s Disaster Management Control Room, the incident occurred at 10.56 pm on Monday. A car driven by Mohammad Shoheb Sheikh was heading towards the Cadbury Signal from Upvan, when it was hit from behind by another car, driven by Asif Tharmal. The information was first reported to the control room by an eyewitness Vinod Choudhary, following which Vartak Nagar police Personnel and disaster management staff reached the spot promptly with a pickup vehicle. Oil leaked from one or both vehicles onto the road, creating a slippery hazard. Disaster management workers immediately spread soil to absorb the oil and make the surface safe. Both vehicles were moved to the roadside, and the stretch was cleared for traffic within a short time. Thane Police and civic authorities have urged drivers to maintain safe distance and speed on busy stretches such as Pokhran Road, especially at night, to prevent such rear-end collisions.
