Kalpana Adhalrao Patil, the Shiv Sena candidate from Ambegaon constituency, has registered a complaint at Manchar police station against Independent candidate Suresh Bhor for holding her hostage for almost an hour.
Narrating the incident, Shivaji Adhalrao Patil, Sena MP from Shirur and Kalpana's husband, said, "Kalpana had gone to meet one of her supporters, Alka Bhor, (no relation to Suresh Bhor) in Awsari about five kms away from Manchar police station.
"She was having an informal chat with her supporters when Bhor and his supporters suddenly arrived there and started quarrelling with them.
"They started beating up one of our supporters, Sharad Shinde. Kalpana intervened, but Bhor and 4-5 others
bullied her and locked her inside a house for about 45 minutes. It was only after I reached the spot that Kalpana was freed."
Molestation
PI Dnyaneshwar Ganore of Manchar police station said, "I have registered a complaint against 7-8 supporters of Suresh Bhor under sections 354 (molestation) 341 (wrongful restraint) and 323 (beating) of the Indian Penal Code."
Said Kalpana, "Apart from Bhor, I suspect the hand of Dilip Valse Patil's supporters."
Interestingly, Shiv Sena had earlier decided to field Bhor from Ambegaon constituency but in a sudden turn of events, chose Kalpana instead.
