NDA announced its plan to increase the number of cadets by raising a new 16th squadron early this year, and has also approached the government and other authorities for sanctioning the construction work for the same. Talking to media-persons, Singh said that infrastructural development takes time and "is a long haul process."

"We already have the fresh batch of cadets and are accommodating them in a temporary building while the building approval is underway. We may also raise another squadron based on available infrastructure if the situation demands in the near future. We are already procuring new training equipment for our cadets some of which will be available by next year", he added.

According to the contract signed in August this year, the Air Force cadets in the NDA will soon have five more Super Dimona glider aircrafts. Similarly the Navy and Army cadets will also get an advanced training vessel and a new obstacle course respectively.u00a0 Reportedly the administrative approval for seven new sports fields has been granted and it will be ready by June 2012, once the tendering processes is completed.

The Passing Out Parade (POP) of the NDA will be held on November 29, where 318 cadets including 16 foreign cadets from friendly foreign countries will graduate from the prestigious academy. The cadets were from the 121st Course and began their training on December 28, 2008.
