'No human remains in ashes'

UP government released the forensic report on Thursday

The forensic report of the ashes found in the villages of Bhatta and Parsaul after the farmers' agitationu00a0 has confirmed that they did not contain any human remains, the Uttar Pradesh government said on Thursday. "The forensic reportu00a0 has confirmed that no human bones were present in the ashes that were found in the farms of Bhatta and Parsaul in Greater Noida. Even the allegations of rape are baseless," said UP Cabinet Secretary Shashank Shekhar Singh at a press conference in Lucknow.

On May 16, Congress MP and AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi had alleged that during the agitation several farmers were killed and their bodies burnt in the farms of Bhatta-Parsaul and some women of the villages were raped by the police. Reacting to the statement, the Mayawati government had ordered forensic tests of ashes found in the fields of Bhatta-Parsaul. The findings of the test were released on Thursday.
