The explosive material that created scare in the Capital on Monday is in no way related to the blast that occurred outside the High Court five days back. Sources in Delhi police said that the type and amount of explosives used in both the cases were completely different.

"The crude bomb that exploded outside the High Court was planted intentionally to create damage. Splinters, detonator and timer devices were also found in the remains of the explosive. The mystery of that explosive substance is still unsolved and the significance of the red powder and wax found at the spot is still to be figured out.

We are waiting for the forensic reports. However, the explosive substance found near Gargi college on Monday was no more powerful than firecrackers we use for celebrations. The modus operandi of the two incidents are completely different," said sources in the police.

While the Special Cell of the Delhi police is investigating the blast outside the High Court, the incident outside the Gargi College, which has been declared as a prank, is being investigated by the local police.
