CISF inspector held after he demanded money from constables who had resigned
The Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI) on Tuesday arrested a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) inspector who was demanding money from four of his constables for issuing them their relieving letters after they had submitted their resignations.
CBI sources said that they arrested the inspector Shamshad Alam Khan on the complaint of the constables.
"We received a complaint that Khan was demanding money from the constables to relieve them from their services after they had opted for the Voluntary Retirement Scheme and had resigned from the force," the CBI sources said. When contacted, the CISF confirmed the incident and said that the inspector is likely to be suspended. Khan, who hails from Uttar Pradesh, was posted with fourth battalion of CISF in Jaipur.
CISF officials said that the lower ranks in the force often face such problems. "Such incidents often occur inu00a0 the force but they are never reported and common people hardly come to know of them. The senior officers sometimes are very non-cooperative in such cases," the officials added. CBI sources said that they were searching Khan's house to find out if he had accepted bribes from other people.
