Preferred candidates will go through a 4-year training program for the period of which they will also complete a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering. Degree will be awarded by Birla Institute of Technology, Ranchi. Subsequent to successful completion of their training the aspirants will join the esteemed Indian Railway Service beginning with a probationary position as Mechanical Engineers for 18 months. UPSC has announced a total of 42 positions for which the SCRA Exam Result 2014 scores will be considered.
Candidates who were shortlisted in the written test need to fill up DAF (Detailed Application Form) online which are accessible at commission’s website. Forms will be accessible on commission’s website from 26th May 2014 to 10th June 2014 till 11.59 PM. Prior to filling DAF it is necessary to understand the directions. Printed copy of DAF is to be submitted at the commission’s office along with all the relevant documents on or before 16th June 2014.
The UPSC SCRA written exam consisted of 3 Papers of 200 marks each: General Ability Test, Physical Sciences and Mathematics, each to be completed within duration of 2 hours. Negative marking was applicable.
Candidates who successfully cleared the UPSC SCRA Exam will be called for a Personality test / interview by the Board. A total of 225 candidates have cleared the SCRA 2014 written exam and are entitled for the next round of the recruitment process i.e the Personality Test/Interviews.
Candidates will be assessed through their leadership skills, initiative, intellectual curiosity and mental and physical energy. Upper limit marks for the interview are 200.

1. Log on to the official website of UPSC i.e. www.upsc.gov.in
2. After appearing on the home page candidates need to click on the selection written Result - SCRA Examination 2014 below what’s New Column.
3. Results will appear before the candidates.
