A 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a youth at her house at Pali village in the district, police said today

A 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a youth at her house at Pali village in the district, police said today.

They said the girl, a student of class VIII, was alone in her house yesterday when the youth intruded there, overpowered her and allegedly raped her.

The boy also belonged to the same village, located at a distance of 15 km from here.

After returning to their house, the girl's parents made a bid to capture the youth, but he threatened to immolate himself and managed to flee.

Police said a case of criminal trespass, rape and criminal intimidation has been registered against the youth, identified as Manoj.

The girl has been medically examined.
