A trivial tiff over money spent on photocopies led to the suicide of 16-year-old Neha Passe. She was found hanging in her transit camp home at Parksite in Vikhroli by her grandmother and neighbours.

After investigating the case, the police learnt that Passe had fought with her parents over her photocopying expenses. With the matter escalating into more than just a fight, the depressed teen decided to take the extreme step.

Senior police inspector, Suresh Shankarrao Sakpal from Parksite police station said, “Passe was a Std X student and was going through depression for a while.

The previous day, she even fought with her parents as she was asked to get some photocopies by her tuition teacher, for which her mother didn’t give her money.”
When Passe’s friend came to her place that morning to accompany her to school, she refused to go, saying that she was feeling unwell.

Sakpal added, “Later, as her parents left for work, Passe asked her grandmother to leave the room as she wanted to take a bath. After a while, her grandmother started calling her several times and when she didn’t reply or open the door, the tensed grandmother called the neighbours. When they opened the door, they saw the girl’s hanging body.” u00a0
