The deceased were identified as Amit alias Pappu Prakash Pawar (27) and Shekhar Avinash Gaikwad (21), both residents of Wadgaon Budruk. Both had cases of body offences and rioting registered against them at the Haveli police station.
“We received a call in the morning from some local residents of Tukainagar saying two people lying in the pool of blood had been spotted in some bushes by the roadside in the area,” Police Inspector Shivaji Devkar of the Haveli police station said. “When we reached to the spot, we found that the duo had been stabbed to death with sharp weapons.”

According to information given by the police, Pawar had been to his in-laws’ house in Wadgaon Budruk to bring his wife at 3 am, but was sent back by his wife because he was in an inebriated state.
“We suspect that they were stabbed to death over some previous dispute and we are investigating with whom they had enmity in the past,” Devkar said.u00a0
