The vehicle the victim was driving toppled into a trench, after being blinded by a car’s headlights
A 30-year-old man was killed in a car accident at Jambhulwadi Bridge near New Katraj Tunnel around 1 am yesterday. The victim lost control over his vehicle when he was unsighted by the headlamps of another car.

The deceased has been identified as Gitesh Ajit Apte, a resident of Kasbe Digras in Miraj of Sangli district. Assistant sub-inspector SP Salunke from Bharti Vidyapeeth police station has lodged a complaint.
According to the complaint, Apte was driving his car from Satara towards Pune at high speed.
After passing the New Katraj Tunnel, Apte came near the Jambhulwadi Bridge, when he was blinded by the high beams from the other vehicle coming from the opposite side.
Apte lost control over his car, which he veered towards the left side of the road. The vehicle fell into a trench, during which Apte received serious injuries.
