The application is currently available for free download from the Google Play Store on Android-enabled phones. The Traffic police intend to soon make it available to iPhone users, too. It took the Traffic police three months to develop the app, working with two private firms. Connected to a GPS-enabled server, it can not only help in navigating city streets, but can also assist in locating stolen vehicles. Citizens can get alerts on traffic jams, find out where their vehicle has been towed, or even take pictures of traffic violators or complain against errant auto rickshaw drivers.

Several citizens who have used the application have rated it highly on Play Store, and have even left suggestions on how to improve it. The application has received 424 ratings from users, averaging 4.6 out of five on the app market. This is a higher rating than the 4.2 received by the Delhi Traffic police’s app and the 4.1 by Bangalore police’s effort.

DCP (Traffic) Vishwas Pandhare told mid-day, “In the past week, we have received feedback from more than 400 citizens. The suggestions they have made include uploading details related to PMPML bus timings and their routes, names and numbers of the police officials posted at police stations and petrol pumps that are operational round-the-clock.”
“We are going to make constant efforts to make changes in the application, so that it can help the end user with their queries. We are trying to make the necessary updates and changes at the earliest,” he added.
