Yeah, every kid wants a Kingfisher, but now, they'd be happy with the local college calendar, too. Maharaja Agrasen College is the first college of the University of Delhi to have launched a calendar on educational trips, something that generally confuses students all round the year.u00a0

So, what's this thing really about?
There are two pictures on every page, so that the calendar can accommodate more pictures of the college educational tour. Theu00a0 photographs were taken up in the Himalayas, at Manali and Rohtang. A number of students from various departments came under one roof to capture the soul of the college. They froze all the funny moments, projects and outdoor activities so as to make the final product a comprehensive reflection of the college's underlying spirit. "Forty five of us coordinated. We worked days and nights, designing and editing. Everything was carried out in college premises only, and the major credit goes to mass communication students," says Pooja, a student here.u00a0u00a0

Tough job, eh?
There was no professional help, and tracking the pictures in the order that they were clicked proved quite a task for the creators. Cost control was another tricky area.

"We have the Arsenal Club, which funds our adventure activities. Each calendar cost us Rs 80, and that's why we published only 500 copies. These will be distributed among all DU colleges, all teachers and a few students at our college", says Zulf Quar, a student involved with the project.

Teachers are proud, too. "It was the hard work of our students that made the project happen. We will raise more funds next year onwards, and bring about the necessary improvement," promises Dr Suneel Sondhi, principal ofu00a0 Maharaja Agrasen College.

Till then, the trend-setter stands appreciated.
