A homosexual speaks: 'Changes are still required in the law'

Life for a 24-year-old homosexual is not easy in a city like Pune. But since Delhi High Court's verdict on homosexuality, things have improved. As a schoolboy, I was in a relationship with a fellow student though we were not aware it was homosexuality or that it was a crime. We continued our relationship for six years.

As for my attraction towards males, it has been so since childhood. I became aware of things after reading Bindu Madhav's book 'Partner' and watching a few documentaries which deal with homosexuality.

As for a liberal attitude towards homosexuality, some changes are still required in the law, as the court verdict seems limited only to Delhi. It needs to be comprehensive.
