Whatte fun: MJ Prithvi, Rakesh and Jai Ho girl Tanvi Shah try to look natural in the picture. They failed! |
At times, both of us wonder: Is it us? Or is God just trying to be too sweet? Whatever the cause may be, the effect is divine! You get to spend four full hours with a chick in a chilling studio on a Monday morning.u00a0 Oo la la! What more can you ask for? At least this puts an end to the dostana that Prithvi and I are infamous for.
Not many knew when Tanvi Shah walked into the studios of AR Rahman to croon the track Jai ho, that she was in to create history with the maestro. Today, 'Jai Ho' is not just the first Indian work to bag the Oscars but is also a music anthem that has got the nation gripping. As this woman blessed with a captivating voice, with this huge credit to her name, walks into our studio, smells her coffee, Prithvi and I look at her and take a deep breath. Then starts all the fun!
We got Tanvi in jitters on the very first note, our Blank Fill Maadthira segment, when we quizzed her on: "Lata Mangeshkar recorded about number of songs between 1948 and 1987 making her the most recorded artist in history." Her answer was nowhere close to the right one.
It's 30,000! For once, Prithvi and I felt effervescent. Then we asked her to come up with differences between Bengalooru and Chennai (since she is from there). She said, in Chennai people sweat, in Bengalooru people don't. I immediately pulled her aside and whispered that she is terribly mistaken since she hasn't sat next to Prithvi yet. He is a reservoir of sweat.
We then asked her to reveal something about her that nobody knows and she told us us something that we were craving to hear.
She said, "I am single!" and I quickly revamped my plans in my head for that evening but to my dismay, she was leaving the same afternoon.
But here was the moment, when her rhythmic voice jaded with power, crooned a few lines of the song Jai Ho and everything around stood still. Prithvi and I decided not to let her go. But as we were trying that, her bag almost tore. We quietly walked away wishing her good bye!
