A jeep abandoned in the middle of the square on Laxmi Road Nagarkar Talim Chowk raised several eyebrows.
The headlights of the jeep were on for more than an hour. Police were not aware of the incident till
1.45 am on Tuesday.
When MiD DAY visited the spot at 12.30 am, the front of the jeep (MH-12/BA 3040) was totally damaged with shards of glass.
The headlights were found broken. The Vishrambaug police came and pulled the vehicle to the side of the road.
The police were clueless and were not able to get the address of the jeep driver till 1.30 am.
No information was available with the police control room.
Some onlookers said that the jeep collided with a two-wheeler.
Sub-Inspector Abhinkar, suspected that there might have been an accident and the people nearby might have beaten up the driver and damaged the vehicle.
Police found an invoice with the name of the driver Jyotiram and his mobile number. The number was unreachable.u00a0
