Five people sustained head injuries in different road accidents in the city late last night

Five people sustained head injuries in different road accidents in the city late last night.

All cases were brought after 11.30 pm to the Sassoon hospital casualty ward for treatment.

Of the five, the seriously injured were identified as Swapnil Hasapure (17) and Taufeq, whose second name and age were not immediately available.

Hasapure was with a friend, Hrishikesh Shahani (16), on a bike at the time of the accident.

"Our vehicle was hit by a speeding car and we fell down on the road," said Shahani, a first-year commerce student. "An autorickshaw driver brought us to Sassoon hospital."

Taufeq was brought to Sassoon by the Wanawadi police.

Sagar Margale, another biker with head injuries, was brought to the hospital after an accident.

The fifth case was of Bajrang Dongare, a youth with some injuries on the head and hand. He was brought to the hospital by the Yerawada police.
