Even after Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray made a specific reference to removing all his hoardings and flexes once the public meeting over toll agitation ended, it seems that his party workers, who are otherwise quick to follow his orders, are not in the mood to listen this time.

It has been three days since the mammoth rally at SP College grounds, the banners and flexes are still on display in various parts of the city.

After finishing meeting on February 9, Thackeray had told his volunteers to take off all the banners, which were visually polluting the city.

He also said that party workers should repair the trenches created during the construction of dais on SP College grounds. The venue has been restored, but not the rest of the city.

In July 2012, Deputy CM Ajit Pawar had informed his party workers that criminal action would be initiated against anyone putting up unauthorised flex boards in the city on his birthday. However, his appeal failed to deter enthusiastic supporters.

Thackeray’s banners were mainly displayed in Camp, Yerawada, Tilak Road, and a few Peth areas of the city. When asked about this brazenness of MNS workers, party office bearers said that expect a few areas, almost all the posters were removed on Monday.
