Anonymous caller threatens to bomb BARC colony in Maharashtra

Security in and around BARC colony at Tarapur town in Maharashtra's Thane district has been beefed up after an anonymous caller threatened to bomb the area

District police have increased security in and around BARC colony at Tarapur after an anonymous caller threatened that the area would be bombed.

The colony houses employees of Bhabha Atomic Research Centre. The threat call was received at BARC-Tarapur office on Friday afternoon.

The caller said the Boisar BARC residential colony would be blown off by a bomb, police said. Thane rural police have started checking vehiclesu00a0in the area and tightened security.
