The development came after Union Sports Minister Ajay Maken visited Lucknow's CSM medical university earlier on Monday to meet Arunima. The Minister said he had asked the officials to ensure that Arunima received Rs 2 lakh for her treatment.
"I have asked the sports ministry officials to ensure that the Rs two lakh, which we had promised her earlier, should reach her immediately. I am going there with a team of doctors and we will see, if it is possible or if it is required, and bring her to Delhi," Maken had said before leaving to Lucknow.
The twenty-three-year-old was pushed from the Padmavat Express in Bareilly on April 11 by three men, who were trying to rob her. The incident took place between Chenati and Bareilly railway stations when she was on her way to New Delhi to appear in a CISF recruitment examination.
The police had lodged an FIR under section 307 (attempt to murder) and 393 (attempt to robbery). Arunima was earlier undergoing treatment at the Bareilly District Hospital, where she was admitted on April 12.
