Police claim there was friendly entry; no signs of robbery
While recent incidents have proven beyond doubt that Delhi is unsafe for women, a brutal murder discovered on Sunday revealed that senior citizen's here fare no better. Devendra Kishore Joshi, 68, a retired teacher was found murdered at his duplex house in Vasant Kunj area of south Delhi yesterday morning.

Cops say the attacker slit the victim's throat with a sharp pair of scissors. The deceased's body was discovered by his relative. The actual time death is yet be ascertained.
"The deceased, Devendra Kishore Joshi, lived alone in C-9 Block of Vasant Kunj. His son who is working with an IT company abroad called him several times.
Receiving no response, he then called their relative Pankaj Joshi asking him to visit their house to check on his father. When Pankaj reached the house, he found the front door bolted from the inside. Pankaj went inside through the rear door and discovered Devendra's body lying in a pool of blood on his bed," said the official.
Cops got a call in this regard at around 8am. Police said that they have lodged a murder case and are probing the incident.
Joshi had reportedly refused to shift with his son, Anurag, to the US as he was deeply attached to the house where he had moved in six years ago. His wife died two years ago.
