A body found inside the Central Government Health Scheme's (CGHS) dispensary in Mukundnagar has raised many questions. The body of a man identified as Bhagwan (48) was found inside the chief medical officer's (CMO) cabin yesterday morning and nobody has any clue how that happened as the dispensary was shut the previous day.
The authorities first claimed they did not know Bhagwan but later clarified that he was employed on daily basis for cleaning.
The incident came to light when the CMO's office was found locked from inside and no one responded. The police were alerted and on breaking open the door, they found Bhagwan on the floor.u00a0
"The dispensary was opened at 7.30 am by officiating CMO Dr Meera Sarwade and other staff members. After the staff members realised that the cabin was locked from inside and no one responded to their repeated calls Sarwade informed the police," said Head Constable S K Godbole from Maharshi Nagar police chowky.
The Swargate police station officials said that the viscera of Bhagwan has been preserved and a case of accidental death has been registered.
Sarwade refused to comment on the incident. Other officers also remained tightlipped about it and after repeated requests, M S Unni, the administrator at Swasthya Sadan, that houses the dispensary, was ready to speak.
"The dispensary remains closed on Sunday. It is shocking how he could have entered the office," he said.
The residents of the area claimed that Bhagwan had been living in a makeshift room in Swasthya Sadan's premises for the last six months and was doing some odd jobs.
