Delhi's carjackers know no limit. They have become so emboldened they are not even sparing the netaji.

A pilot vehicle assigned to Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman K Rahman Khan, which had a radio frequency tag allowing its entry into Parliament, was stolen from the residence of Khan's driver on Monday morning.

Meanwhile, in another incident, three unidentified men attempted to run away with the car of Sanjay Maken, brother of Congress MP Ajay Maken who is also the Minister of State (Home Affairs).

In the first incident, the Bolero car (registration number DL 2C Q 3678) was stolen from the residence of Khan's driver Niranjan Mohanty at Sector 5, R K Puram, at around 5.10 am.

According to the police, Mohanty said on Monday morning he heard a suspicious sound outside his house and came out to investigate. He saw a man driving the vehicle away. He chased the robber on a motorcycle but lost track near Vasant Vihar.

Mohanty immediately called the Police Control Room after which a wireless message was flashed across the Capital.

"There are some passes in the vehicle with access to prominent places. The car's radio frequency tag has already been deactivated. We have registered a case as well," said a senior police official. Meanwhile in the second case, unidentified carjackers made an attempt to steal the car of Sanjay Maken, brother of Congress MP Ajay Maken, also the Minister of State (Home Affairs).

At the Rajouri Garden residence of Sanjay Maken, the three carjackers tied up Maken's guard and tried to steal his Maruti Swift car. According to the complaint filed by Sanjay Maken, the three carjackers tried to steal the car that was parked in front of their residence. Sanjay said because the carjackers could not start the car, they broke open its window and tried to steal the music system.

"The guard was on duty when three men threatened him with dire consequences if he made a noise. They tied his hands and also tightened a muffler around his neck. They locked him near the bathroom and went to steal the car's stereo but failed," said a police official.
