The 28-yr-old accused, victim's daughter-in-law, was arrested on Sunday and has confessed
Senior Delhi BJP leader Harsh Vardhan's sister was tricked into consuming several sleeping pills allegedly by her daughter-in-law and was abandoned outside AIIMS in an unconcscious state, police said yesterday.

According to the police officials, Reena (28) was arrested on Monday. On August 27 she reported to the police that Asha Singhal had left her house with the stated purpose of visiting her younger son, Prateek Singhal. She had herself got the missing person report registered on August 24. Reena was married to Parag Singhal, elder son of Asha.
"Reena tricked Asha, the sister of BJP leader Harsh Vardhan, to have sleeping pills to kill her. After she fell unconscious, she rented a car and took her to various hospitals before abandoning her at the gate of AIIMS. A security guard at AIIMS who saw the woman lying unconscious near the gate took her inside and got her admitted," said a police official.
According to the official, Reena had allegedly taken 60-year-old Asha to Model Hospital, GTB Hospital and Saibaba Hospital before allegedly leaving her outside AIIMS. Asha's husband Ravinder Singhal died some years ago.
"During investigation Reena Singhal confessed to have drugged her mother-in-law with intent to kill her because she wanted to grab her property. A case has been registered under appropriate sections," said Prabhakar, DCP (East).
