Insiders say intelligence bureau report, claiming climate not right for BJP win, has been cooked up by anti-poll ministers

BJP leaders, who are trying every trick in the book to stall Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) polls, have reportedly cooked up an intelligence report to convince party aspirants against the municipal elections.

The state intelligence bureau has submitted a report, which states that BJP has meek chances in BBMP elections and Congress is most likely to come to power.

But, many party members of BJP believe that it is a handy work of R Ashok and Katta Subramanya Naidu, city in-charge ministers, and it is a part of their game plan to put off the polls.

"There are many aspirants in BJP and they want the polls to take place.

The duo, Ashok and Naidu, is telling us that we should not be so eager for the BBMP elections as the chances of BJP coming to power is next to nothing," said a BJP leader.

The duo is talking to the party workers and they are understood to have said that BBMP polls must not be conducted in the near future too, as it might help the Congress.

The basis of their argument is the intelligence report. Their suggestion to the aspirants is that the control over BBMP remains with BJP itself, as it is the ruling party inthe state.

"This is not acceptable. These two ministers have been controlling the BBMP and they want to continue doing it," said a party ticket aspirant from a ward from southern part of the city.

The intelligence report said that the BJP could only get 70 seats in the council of 198 wards, while Congress was poised to sweep the polls. Things would worsen for BJP if Congress and JD (S) were able to form a coalition.
