The lawyer said he made many complaints to BMC in the last 5 years about structural changes but never got a response
Despite lawyer Rizwan Merchant’s claim that he has made several complaints to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, the civic body in its press release on June 13 claimed that it had received no complaints from residents about illegal activities leading to structural changes on the building’s premises, and hence had not taken any action.

To the BMC chief
After this, Merchant complained four more times, where he gave references to his previous complaints. The last letter, he said, was submitted to the municipal commissioner’s office on May 15, 2012. “I have lost my family due to the municipal corporation’s negligence.
If they are saying they did not receive any complaints, then who stamped on all the documents on behalf of the BMC? I don’t understand how they can misplace such important documents. I have personally given all the complaints to the G-ward office too but no action was taken.” Mohan Adtani, additional municipal commissioner (city), said, “We will try to find out who was responsible for the complaints not reaching us. We will surely take action against them.”
