He could easily be called the father of controversies.

BP Srinivas, the smalltime businessman-turned-actor-producer who was charged with 'incest' in Bangalore for portraying the love interest of his daughter in a Kannada film he has produced himself, is wanted in a case of fraud in Delhi. The 'incest dad', who outraged activist groups in the tech city, has seven arrest warrants against him pending to be executed.

The game

In May 2006, Tyagi required an industrial loan of Rs 5 crore. He came in contact with Srinivas, who assured him the money from Finaworld Group of Companies (Hong Kong) Ltd. Srinivas demanded one per cent of the amount as processing fee and two per cent as his commission.

Tyagi paid him Rs 15,15,000 on May 2, 2006. However, Srinivas kept him waiting for the loan. Finally, when Tyagi realised he had been duped, he demanded the commission back. He threatened legal action, following which Srinivas agreed to repay the sum. Srinivas issued a cheque of HSBC Bank (cheque No 602176 issued on October 5, 2006) for Rs 14 lakh. The cheque was dishonoured on October 26.

Legal action

Following this, Tyagi moved the court against Srinivas and Magistrate VK Gautam issued summons against him to appear before the court on December 12, 2006. Srinivas did not honour the summon and the court issued a bailable warrant against him on April 7, 2007. However, despite sending repeated summons, Srinivas is yet to appear before the court.

Tyagi's lawyer Mohit Gupta said, "For the last two years a warrant is pending against him but he has not appeared before the court. Nor has he been arrested. He is even making public appearances for the publicity of the movie with his daughter."

Srinivas acknowledged the allegation and said, "I am not a fraud. I incurred a huge loss and was unable to repay the sum. But very soon I'll be able to pay the entire amount back and I have promised this to Ranbir Tyagi."

Reel life
In the film Mussanjeya Gelathi, Srinivas plays a professor who falls in love with his student, played by his real-life daughter Shalini. The film has been approved by censors. 'We've tried to do justice to our roles and it won't affect our relationship,' said Srinivas.

The Other Side
BP Srinivas said:
'I am not a fraud. I incurred a huge loss and was unable to repay the sum. But very soon I'll be able to pay the entire amount back and I have promised this to Ranbir Tyagi.'
