In his statement, Bidari said that a number of people had informed him that one Mallamma Bidari, who is a native of Todalabagi Village in Jamkhandi Taluk of Bagalkot District, was claiming to be his sister.
He said she was misusing his name by trying to influence police officers and other members of the public to gain undue advantage in Jamkhandi Taluk and Devanahalli Taluk of Bangalore District.
Bidari made it clear that Mallamma Bidari was not related to him in any way and that he did not even know her.
"I do not have any contact, relation or association with her.u00a0
Members of the public as well as officers of the police and other departments are requested to be aware of this fact and to deal with any proposals or applications that may be brought by Mallamma Bidari, as per law and are requested not to be influenced when she uses my name.u00a0
If she indulges in any illegal activity, the same may be informed to the local police station for appropriate action as per law," he said in his statement.
According to sources, Mallamma is a worker of a political party. The Devanahalli police have initiated an inquiry to ascertain whether Mallamma has any mala fide political interest apart from the obvious one of making money.
