With a spurt in incidents of crime in the area, outer Delhi is proving to be a tough precinct for city cops. On Sunday night a man was murdered over a petty issue in Rohini.
Two days later, bike borne assailants shot and killed a youth in Narela area.u00a0 A senior police official said that the deceased was identified as Sushil, a local. Police is suspecting that one of his neighbours could be behind the incident.
"Sushil recently got married. On Tuesday afternoon he had come to the local market along with his wife for shopping, when two armed assailants on a bike attacked him and fired at him. Sushil sustained bullet injuries and fell on the ground writhing in pain," said the official.
Hearing the commotion passers-by rushed to Sushil's rescue. The attackers left their bike and fled while firing in the air. The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared brought dead. According to Sushil's wife, one of the attackers was their neighbour. Police said they have lodged an FIR of murder and a manhunt has been launched to nab the killers.

A 36-year-old man who allegedly shot dead a young software professional after the latter accidentally knocked off a plate of chicken tikka was arrested Tuesday, police said. Surya Prakash, already involved in 12 criminal cases, was caught from Khera Khurd village in Rohini in north Delhi. His accomplice, Parveen Beniwal, is on the run. The dramatic shooting took place Sunday night when Batra and three friends went to the Sector 17 DDA market of Rohini for food. As Batra opened the door of his car, it hit Prakash who was coming by, and he dropped a plate of chicken tikka he was holding. This sparked an ugly brawl which ended when Prakash whipped out a pistol and fired at a stunned Batra from close range. The victim was shot in the stomach and chest, and died instantly. |
