Even college principals, who had hoped to come out with the first merit list by July 1 and begin the academic year for the junior college by mid-July, are disappointed. "So far, we haven't heard of any commitment from the board on results. And though we are completely prepared to start the admissions, we will have to wait and watch. We wished that this year, at least, they keep the deadline as last year junior college started in August and in such a situation, we have a tough time completing portions and conducting exams," said a college principal.
The Maharashtra Knowledge Corporation Limited (MKCL), on the other hand, issued a press note announcing that they were prepared to start the FYJC admissions, once results were declared on June 15. Officials at the MSBHSE are upset over the letter as MKCL is the agency that is supposed to oversee centralised admissions online and is not concerned with the declaration of results. The note has put the MSBSHSE officials in a tight spot as it insinuates the results will be out tomorrow. The board, however, is not prepared to commit to this deadline or announce it officially.
MSBSHSE secretary Shahaji Dhekne gave a terse reply when asked about the SSC results. "Officially, we haven't declared the dates. If the MKCL sent any such letter, it was wrong as they have no right to do so."
Realising their folly, the MKCL authorities tried to evade the subject. Vivek Sawant, managing director of MKCL, did not answer when asked about the confusion. "The FYJC admissions have gone online and we have already received thousands of application. Over the issue of the letter, please speak to the regional head and get the details," he replied.
