Hotel officials refute charges, say woman has vested interest in harassing owner

A hotel cook allegedly molested a 33-year-old British woman at the Sunderban Hotel in Koregaon Park on Saturday night. The Bund Garden police have arrested the cook, Hafizull Jabbar Mulla (29), a resident of Yerawada who hails from West Bengal, yesterday.

According to the complain lodged, the victim returned to her room after meditation at 7.30 pm on Saturday and fell asleep. Around midnight, she woke up to some noises and noticed movement on her bed.
Bed side story
When she saw Mulla near her bed and shouted for help. Mulla allegedly tried to gag her and she received injuries on her face and other body parts in the scuffle that followed. The woman also complained that the hotel reception was not eager to help her and allegedly asked her to wait till they summoned the police.
The woman was staying in the hotel since March 11 this year.

The Other Side
Suresh Talera, the managing director of Sunderban hotel, refuted all the charges. Talera said, "An Italian man called Dario runs a restaurant in Sundarban Hotel and Mulla works under him. A neighbouring (spiritual) community is not in good terms with the restaurant owner and the British lady is a follower of this community. So she has been making false claims."
